4 Reasons to catch Impastor on TV LAND

Impastor is TV LAND’s new hit comedy, now airing in it’s second season on Wednesday’s at 10:30/9:30 Central. Check out these 4 reasons to tune in to the new comedy.

The premise

When Buddy fails at suicide, he decides to take over the identity of his would-be-savior, who happens to be a homosexual pastor. The tension mounts with every minute as Buddy brings his streetwise brand of cynicism to a small town community.

With each of his vices tested and his secret constantly in jeopardy, Buddy must find a way to continue his ruse or risk eternal f*cking damnation; at least until he’s able to run away.

The Cast

Michael Rosenbaum stars as the loveable degenerate Buddy. Out to make a buck and save his hide in the process, Michael has ordained himself TV’s new funny man. Coming from the popular series Smallville, a slew of Justice League animated movies, and the television series, Michael has blown away critics with his impostor-ing portrayal of a gay pastor. His comedic chops flourish in a sea of television that is wholly repetitive.

The rest of the cast boasts television and film veterans Sara Rue (Dora), Aimee Garcia (Leanne), Mircea Monroe (Alexa), David Rasche (Alden), and newcomer Mike Kosinski (Russell). Each bringing their own comedic style and impressive background, they are sure to pull in success with this new endeavor.

Bridging the gap

With the many religious debates of the role of homosexuality in the church, series creator Christopher Vane, and his writing staff, have capitalized on the entrenching argument to create a television rose in the middle of thorns.

The great Joan Rivers stated that if you take a serious topic and make fun of it, you lessen the blow of its impact. There is no question that this is the case with Impastor. The show may bring its own arguments with regards to gay and lesbian leaders in the church, but the simple act of putting it in the forefront is uniquely radiant.

Funny!

Laugh out loud funny is not enough to describe Impastor. The comedy writing is refreshingly caustic, and downright addictive.

This is my new favorite comedy. Don’t’ miss out. If you’re not watching, you should be.

  1. That show is awesome! I’ve been watching since season one and the way he seems to be able to shape a situation to fit his agenda never ceases to amaze me.
